Description/Eligibility/Service Details

Description Supports for Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities: 
Provides personal care and homemaking services in partner buildings across Mississauga and Brampton. Helps people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible and provides referrals to other community services. 
 
Supports for Daily Living (SDL) Program: 
Assists older adults with essential activities of daily living, including personal care, medication assistance, the Safety Assurance Program, laundry, purchasing grocery items, light meal preparation, and light homemaking. Services are provided to clients in 10 different buildings and in the neighbourhoods around those buildings. 
 
Supportive Housing Program: 
Supports people who require daily personal support and essential homemaking to live independently. Services are provided in senior apartments and in the neighbourhoods around those buildings. 
 
Full Range of Non-Medical Services: 
Provides a full range of non-medical services, including: 
 
- Personal support services: Dressing and undressing, hair care, oral and skin care, transferring and positioning, washing and bathing, safety assurance, Lifeline, etc. 
- Homemaking services: Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes, making beds and changing sheets, assisting with light meal preparation, emptying garbage and recycling, etc. 
- Medication management: Partnered with Resident Care Pharmacy to support Peel Senior Link clients who are on multiple drug regimens or who have difficulty with medication compliance. 
- Care coordination: Personalized plan of care that restores or maintains health, independence, and overall well-being in the home. 
- Foot care services: Available at some locations, including diabetic foot care and health education. 
- Meal delivery: Through partnerships with local food banks, Peel Senior Link provides free grocery and meal deliveries to PSL clients in partner buildings and surrounding neighbourhoods throughout Mississauga and Brampton. 
 
Peel Senior Link is accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada.
