Description Assistance provided to residents of Peel Region, applying for financial help and Ontario Works 
 
Services and programs: 
 
Apply for Ontario Works or emergency assistance (https://www.peelregion.ca/services/financial-help/ontario-works/) - for those who need help paying for food, clothing, and shelter, financial help is available from the Ontario government 
Update Social Insurance information (https://www.peelregion.ca/services/financial-help/update-info/) - To keep receiving Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support update personal information when there are changes 
Keep housing and avoid eviction (https://www.peelregion.ca/help/past-due-bills/) - Peel residents may be eligible for one-time financial help if they are behind in their bills or facing eviction 
Apply for child care subsidy (https://www.peelregion.ca/childcare-subsidy/) - those who cannot afford child care, can apply for financial help. This is called a child care subsidy, and helps pay for child care 
Apply for rebate on property taxes (https://www.peelregion.ca/help/property-tax-rebate/) - rebates offered to eligible low-income seniors (65+) or low-income persons with disabilities 
Help for people with disabilities(https://www.peelregion.ca/services/financial-help/disability-support/) - people who have a disability and need help paying for food and shelter, can apply for financial help. This is called the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) 
Help paying for funeral arrangements (https://www.peelregion.ca/services/financial-help/funerals-arrangements/) - Apply for help paying for basic funeral costs for a deceased Peel resident 
Apply for discounted monthly pass (https://www.peelregion.ca/services/financial-help/bus-pass-discount/) - People who live in Brampton or Mississauga and cannot afford a monthly bus pass, can apply for a discount
